Who builds ShipSeeker

ShipSeeker is built and run by an independent founder — not a VC-backed team or a freight forwarder with its own agenda. That’s deliberate: the tools stay broker- and forwarder-agnostic, so the cheaper-origin suggestion or the refund estimate is whatever the data says, not whatever routes a shipment to us. When a tariff rate changes, one person applies it and logs it on the changelog; if a number looks wrong to you, email us and it gets checked against the source. We’re based in and build for U.S. importers.

Where the data comes from

ShipSeeker is built on the U.S. Census Bureau International Trade data (233 countries, 5,710 product categories, through Aug 2026), UN Comtrade global trade across 58 reporting economies, and the USITC Harmonized Tariff Schedule for duty rates. See how we verify rates.

All figures are official trade values and tariff rates. Duty and landed-cost figures are estimates for planning — Section 232 and anti-dumping/countervailing (AD/CVD) duties are included only when you supply those rates, since they are product- and case-specific.
